Information Regarding Coronavirus

UPDATE AS OF 12 MAY: Following the government’s directives to the public to help stop the spread of coronavirus, the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham is closed until further notice. We will remain closed until government advice changes.

Our Programming and Box office teams are working hard to reschedule as many events as possible. We would like to thank all our customers for their continued patience, support and understanding.

We will contact all ticket holders directly via email or letter for events that have been cancelled or rescheduled. A regularly updated list of affected events is below.

Please do not call our box office. Due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently unable to operate an on-site box office so cannot receive phone calls.

If you are waiting to hear from us about your booking, please bear with us. We are working through all rescheduled and cancelled events as promptly and efficiently as possible. However, with limited resources available to us at present, and a very large number of customers affected by our current closure, it may take us a few weeks to reach you. We apologise for this unavoidable delay and thank you for your continuing patience and understanding.

Our leadership team will continue to follow the government’s recommendations regarding coronavirus and plans to re-open the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall will be announced as soon as we are able to do so.

Our website and social media pages will be updated regularly with the latest information and advice for customers, on Twitter and Facebook @RoyalNottingham

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall in happier times. Until then, we remain committed to being there for you, as we always have been. We are in this together.

Thank you.

Postponed events: These are events not able to go ahead on their original date, which our programming team are trying to reschedule. We will contact all ticket holders directly via email or letter with more information once this event has been rescheduled, or if we have had to cancel it, and we will update our website accordingly.

Rescheduled events: We will contact ticket holders by email or letter to let them know the new date, and we will update our website with this information. Bookings will be automatically transferred to the new date, retaining original seats at the original ticket price. New tickets will be sent out when the venue’s on-site box office re-opens.

Cancelled events: We will contact ticket holders directly by email or letter, and we will update our website with this information. All ticket holders will be offered the option to either donate the value of their tickets to the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, exchange for a gift voucher or receive a full refund.

Further Information For Ticket Holders

Which performances will be affected by this closure?

How will my refund be processed?

If an event you have tickets for is cancelled or rescheduled, you will receive notification from us directly by email or letter, detailing the options available to you. If you have chosen the option to receive a full refund, we will process this for you via one of these methods;

· Refunding your card remotely

We can refund some debit and credit card transactions without needing to contact you by telephone. It is important to note that refunds which are processed remotely in this way must still be done individually by our box office team. With the limited resources available to us at present, and a very large number of customers affected by our current closure, it may take us a few weeks to process your refund. We apologise for this unavoidable delay and thank you for your continuing patience and understanding.

· Calling on the telephone

For some more complex transactions – those with multiple events on one order, for example – we will need to contact you by telephone to process your refund. Due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently unable to operate our on-site box office. Working remotely, some of our box office team can now make out-going calls. However, the very large number of customers affected by our current closure means that it may still take us a few weeks to process your refund in this way. We apologise for this unavoidable delay and thank you for your continuing patience and understanding.

We are closely following the government’s advice, and we will re-open our call centre as soon as we are able to do so. Please be assured that your booking will remain securely on our system until we can reach you.

When we do call, our operator will use the telephone number you have registered with us on your account. For your security, please be assured that the protection of your personal data is of paramount importance to us. At any point in the call, you may ask our operator to verify details only we would know. For example, you might wish to ask them to verify when and how you purchased your tickets. If you are at all unsure, please do feel free to end the call. We will completely understand and will call you back at another time.

In some cases, we may not have an up-to-date contact telephone number for you on our system. If this is the case, we will send you a letter explaining how your refund will be processed.

· Refunding if you paid in cash, by cheque, or with a gift voucher

If you purchased your tickets using cash, cheque or gift voucher, a member of our team will contact you directly by telephone to discuss how your refund will be processed.

· If you purchased your tickets through a ticket agency

We are only able to process refunds for ticket purchases made directly with us, Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, either on our website trch.co.uk or via our box office call centre or counter. If you purchased tickets through a ticket agency, for example Ticketmaster or See Tickets, you will need to contact them directly for information as they are your point of purchase.

To help you identify your point of purchase via your order number: Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall order numbers have seven digits. If your order number contains any hyphens, special characters or letters this is more likely to be from a ticket agency.

· Our commitment to you

These are challenging times for us all. Whilst we work on the logistics of processing all outstanding refunds as securely and efficiently as possible, your booking will remain safely on our system. Please be reassured that if you are entitled to a refund, we will refund you. This is our commitment to you. It may take us some time, and we are truly sorry for that. In the meantime, it’s important for you to know that we haven’t forgotten you and we won’t stop until we have helped every single one of our affected customers. We are all in this together.

Thank you.

I’ve seen on social media that an event I have tickets for has been rescheduled. Will my tickets be valid for the new date or will I be offered a refund?

Our Programming and Box office teams are working hard to reschedule as many events as possible.

Whilst we will do our best to contact you directly as soon as we can, sometimes you might hear about this on social media before we’ve managed to reach you via email or letter. But please don’t worry, your booking will remain securely on our system until we have reached you to discuss your options.

Can I get a refund or exchange if I no longer wish to come to a performance I have booked for?

At present, our terms and conditions of sale remain the same. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged except in the case of a cancelled performance.

In the event of a show being sold out, the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall can try to resell tickets on your behalf. This is subject to tickets being returned to us at least 24 hours before the show. We will temporarily waive our £2 per ticket fee for this service.

How long is this period of closure likely to be extended?

Our leadership team will continue to follow the government’s recommendations regarding coronavirus. Plans to re-open the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall will be announced as soon as we are able to do so.

Our website and social media pages will be updated regularly with the latest information and advice for customers, on Twitter and Facebook @RoyalNottingham

I was really looking forward to coming to a show that has been cancelled. Will it be rescheduled?

We were looking forward to it, too! We are working hard to reschedule as many events as possible. We will keep our website and social media pages updated with any further information via Twitter and Facebook @RoyalNottingham

I’m concerned about the future of the venue in these unprecedented circumstances. What can I do to help?

Thank you. Here are some of the ways you can help.

See a show

The best way you can support the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall would be to come back and enjoy shows here again when we re-open. Going to a theatre show or concert is such an enriching and joyful experience, especially in uncertain and anxious times, and we are very proud to be able to offer an exciting variety of cultural experiences to entertain, inspire and connect people.

Make a donation

If you wish to show your support in other ways, you could make a donation or leave a lasting legacy by Naming a Seat in the auditorium. You can find out more about both these options here https://trch.co.uk/support-us

Join the Membership scheme

If you visit us regularly, you might consider joining our Membership scheme, which is a great way to help us safeguard these two wonderful, historic venues for future generations to enjoy. You can find out more here https://trch.co.uk/membership
