New season brochure out
Our new brochure is out and packed with plenty of musicals, comedians, music and dance to keep you busy this autumn and into the New Year.
We’re continuing our work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the wider Nottingham community with First Encounters with Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice (15 & 16 Nov), featuring 24 young local actors. This new production is especially created for those experiencing Shakespeare for the first time so give it a try!
This autumn also sees the return of Opera North with three tales of passion and tragedy; La bohème (5, 7 & 8 Now), Giulio Cesare (6 Nov) and The Greek Passion (9 Nov). If you’re new to opera or know someone who is, check out the company’s ‘Try It ON’ £20 ticket offer, or if you’re an established opera fan you can save with our multi-buy Season Tickets and save up to 15%.
There’ll be plenty of drama coming to the Theatre Royal this season, with Prism (21 – 26 Oct) a poignant play based on the life of cinematic master Jack Cardiff starring Robert Lindsay, and also the world stage premiere of Band of Gold (14 – 18 Jan) a brand new production of Kay Mellor’s multi-award winning TV series.
Another highlight you won’t want to miss is South Africa’s award-winning Dada Masilo and her fearless re-imagining of the iconic Giselle (8 & 9 Oct) fusing ballet, contemporary and traditional Tswana dance – this is ballet like you’ve never seen it before!
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the theatre and this year we’re got the fairy godmother of all pantomimes, Cinderella (30 Nov – 5 Jan). You and your family shall go to the ball with another spectacular show packed with all the traditional ingredients and magic.
Our Third Stage events continue with a great choice of fun fringe shows in the Theatre Royal’s Dress Circle Bar – grab a drink, and settle in for an experience that’s out of the ordinary. The next Nottingham Classics International Concert Season opens in September with a fantastic selection of stunning concerts from Moscow Philharmonic (3 Oct), National Youth Orchestra of Great Britian (6 Jan) and classical guitarist Craig Ogden (4 Dec) a to name a few.
