Summer 2019 season brochure out now

Summer is just around the corner and we’re ready to make it the best yet, with a season packed with unforgettable performances…

As always, there’ll be fantastic West End musicals, starting with the return of award-winning show The Bodyguard (11 – 22 June) starring Alexandra Burke featuring a host of Whitney Houston’s greatest hits. The musical comedy, Calendar Girls – The Musical (25 June – 6 July) tells the story of a group of ordinary ladies who achieve something extraordinary together. This summer also sees the return of Avenue Q (15 – 20 July) back by popular demand, so if you missed all the fuzz last time, book early for this laugh-out-loud musical! For the first time, September will see Gloria Estefan’s Broadway hit, On Your Feet! (16 – 21 September) conga into Nottingham with an inspiring story of true love from the streets of Cuba and Miami.

First seen in Nottingham in 1952, Agatha Christie’s legendary murder mystery, The Mousetrap (17 – 22 June) is the longest running show in history and will keep you guessing until the very end. If you’d prefer to try something new, don’t miss The Lovely Bones (24 – 28 September) adapted for the stage from Alice Seabold’s novel about life after loss that has captured the hearts of readers across the world. And of course, the summer wouldn’t be complete without The Colin McIntyre Classics Thrillers Season (30 July – 24 August), featuring four thrilling tales of blackmail, murder and revenge.

Looking for something to entertain the whole family? Head into the wild and embark on a Jurassic adventure with Dinosaur World Live (6 & 7 July), an interactive show featuring Tyrannosaurus Rex, Tricertops, Segnosaurus and more – perfect for your little explorers! Fans of Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler’s much-loved bedtime stories will love Tabby McTat (14 & 15 August), a heart-warming tale of friendship from the team behind Zog, The Gruffalo and Stick Man. Plus, we’ve got the school holidays covered with Brainiac Live (17-25 August) providing hands-on workshops for young scientists and budding brainiacs.

For those looking for a fun night out with friends, there’s plenty to choose from: join John Barrowman on his latest tour Fabulous (28 June); get ready to salsa as Strictly Stars Aljaž ŠkorjanecGiovanni Pernice and Gorka Marquez battle it out on the dance floor in Here Come The Boys (4 July); and prepare for a whirlwind of laughter and mayhem with Confetti & Chaos (19 & 20 July) an immersive dining experience and cordial invitation to the worst wedding ever!

Summer 2019 also sees the return of The Drivetime Concert (27 June) providing an escape from the rush hour traffic with an informal, fun orchestral concert that you can take part in by joining the Drivetime Choir. If your little one loves performing, we’re also running a West End Summer School (5 – 9 August) a great way for 7 – 16 year olds to develop new skills during the holidays.
