TRCH says farewell to exceptional theatre boss
Friends and colleagues of Robert Sanderson gathered at the Theatre Royal yesterday to bid farewell to the Managing Director who retires following the completion of the venue’s extensive £3.3m Royal Transformation Project.
For the last nine years Robert has transformed the Theatre Royal & Concert Hall into one of the most popular and successful entertainment venues in the UK.
The event was a chance for invited guests to share fond memories and also featured a piano recital from rising talent, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, sister of Nottingham’s phenomenal young cellist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
Robert said he was “immensely proud to have played my part”, but was looking forward to spending more time with his wife Margaret and returning to his arts management consultancy business. He thanked the staff across both venues for their continual hard work and the encouragement and trust of Nottingham City Council.
