The Uke Box's History of Pop

Tickets Free

Sit on our mountain of beanbags and join in with our professional musicians alongside beanie Bear. The event lasts approximately 45 minutes with the chance to meet the musicians and have a go with the instruments.

Beth, Joe and Tricky are a fun, family band from Nottingham playing the Spice Girls, Tchaikovsky and everything in between. And their party-tastic sound comes courtesy of two ukuleles and a violin – light-hearted pop classics and quirky mash-ups like you’ve never heard before! For their first Beanbag performance they’ll be presenting the history of pop in just 45 minutes, so get ready to spin the pop-meter and sing and dance through the decades!

The Uke Box came about in 2010 when Beth, Joe and Tricky started playing gigs at family parties, followed by a summer holiday gigging on the south coast. Since then they’ve played at festivals far and wide including Glastonbury, Europe and the East coast of America. Beth even played for the Queen and Prince Philip once upon a time! Joe currently plays twice a week on the wards at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
