Visiting Our Venues
Level Access & Lifts
When visiting the Royal Concert Hall, there is level access from South Sherwood Street through the push-button activated doors at the main entrance. During performances, ramped access to the Royal Concert Hall is available from Burton Street.
There is level access to the Theatre Royal through Yarn bar located on South Sherwood Street. Ramped access to the Theatre Royal is on the far left of the main entrance on Theatre Square. This door is push-button activated.
There is a lift in the Theatre Royal that services all levels of the venue. We advise those who require step-free access to book seats in the Stalls, as there are stairs to reach all seating inside the auditorium on the Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony levels.
All levels of the Royal Concert Hall are accessible by lift. There are a small number of stairs to reach seating on Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Wheelchair User Spaces
Wheelchair user spaces are located in the Stalls and the Dress Circle of the Theatre Royal, and in the Stalls and Tier 1 of the Royal Concert Hall. Scooters and large wheelchairs may require two standard size wheelchair spaces.
For those wishing to transfer from their wheelchair into an auditorium seat, we recommend booking in the Stalls of both the Theatre Royal and the Royal Concert Hall. Our staff will look after your wheelchair once you have transferred to your seat.
Step-free access toilets in the Royal Concert Hall
On Level 0 in the Royal Concert Hall we have a Changing Places Toilet facility, specifically designed for customers with more complex access needs.
For those seated in the Stalls, we advise using the toilets on Level 1 next to Door A (these include two accessible toilets).
For those seated in Tier 1, we advise using the toilets on Level 3 next to Door C (these include a RADAR key accessible toilet).
For those seated in Tier 2, we advise using the toilets on Level 5 next to Door E.
Step-free access toilets in the Theatre Royal
Step-free access toilets can be found in the Stalls foyer – including an accessible toilet located close to Yarn Bar.
On the Upper Circle foyer there is a single RADAR key accessible toilet located next to the bar. There are also other toilets available in both venues but please be aware that these may not have step-free access.
