Founded in the seismic year of 1968, Cantamus was the revolutionary creation of Pamela Cook MBE, whose vision was to enable aspiring young talents to grow, express themselves, and make a positive impact through music. Since its foundation Cantamus has earned a worldwide reputation for nurturing vocal excellence and has won a host of international award, including double 1st prizes at Montreux in 1978, ‘Choir of the World’ at Llangollen in 1997, and 1st place in the youth class at The North Wales Choir Festival 2022.

For this After Hours performance Cantamus presents a richly varied programme of choral music including classic pieces by Mozart, Johann Strauss II, and Bob Chilcott. British composer, and long-time Cantamus collaborator, Michael Neaum, also features in the programme, with his imaginative arrangements of traditional folk songs, as well as his original composition, Haiku, and choral arrangement of Ennio Morricone’s Nella Fantasia, adapted from Gabriel’s Oboe from the movie, The Mission.
