An immersive theatrical séance
Presented by Dr. Thomas Charles Craig

Enter the dark heart of the Theatre Royal for a one-hour journey into the unknown.

In this unique blend of storytelling, illusion, and historical investigation, your host revives the lost rituals of Victorian spiritualism – including the rarely seen Spirit Cabinet – in an attempt to reach across the veil and contact those who shaped this iconic theatre’s past.

At the centre of the séance is a bold attempt to reach Frank Matcham himself – the visionary architect who transformed the Theatre Royal in 1897. His influence lingers in every curve of the auditorium, every gilded flourish above the stage. Now, over a century later, his spirit will be invited to take a final bow.

History and performance intertwine as the ghosts of the Royal stir once more – and the curtain rises on what lies beyond.

This event will take place in the Theatre Royal Dress Circle Foyer.

VIP Ticket (£14)

For those who wish to step deeper into the unknown, a VIP ticket offers the chance to remain after the main performance for an exclusive, 20-minute extended experience. Seated at one of just ten candlelit tables (each accommodating four people) throughout the performance.

VIP ticket holders will then take part in a more intimate and tailored encounter with your host. This immersive session includes enhanced access to the Spirit Cabinet and a live experiment using contemporary technology and sensory isolation to explore modern methods of spirit communication. A rare opportunity which is not for the faint of heart.

VIP tickets are limited to just 40 guests. You can book as an individual, pair, or group and all VIP guests will be seated at a table for 4, for both the main show and the extended session. If you wish to sit with friends, simply let us know on the night and we will seat you together.

VIP’s will remain after the show for an additional 20-minute experience.
