A familiar face to Nottingham Classics audiences, giving foyer recitals for our concerts since 2018, Li Min Ong is a Singaporean pianist and researcher and a University of Nottingham alumna (Law, 2019).

Her programme comprises the best of Romantic piano works from the greatest composers. Beginning with the impressionism of Debussy’s Sunken Cathedral and Ravel’s Reflections suite, she takes us into the lyrical world of Tchaikovsky’s Seasons (with the appropriate May as her choice) and Rachmaninov’s B-minor Prelude, before moving to the showpiece transcription of Kreisler’s Liebesleid by Rachmaninov and finally one of Chopin’s finest achievements, the Ballade No. 4.

Li Min was a student of Paul Roberts (London) and has also worked with Katia Nemirovitch-Danchenko (Geneva), Lim Yan (Singapore) and Paul Murray (Glasgow). She is currently studying with Nikita Lukinov in Glasgow, where she is now based. She has also been performing contemporary music with CoMA Glasgow, and chamber music at the University of Strathclyde, where she is pursuing doctoral research in administrative law.

Access to the Dress Circle foyer will be open from 12.15pm, seating is unreserved, and the bar will be open for refreshments before the performance at 1pm.
