Eclectic and electrifying, the multi-award-winning string duo, Fran & Flora have a rapidly growing reputation that ranges across folk, avant-garde and popular music. Drawing their material from archival recordings, recovered manuscripts and study with traditional music masters from Romania to New York, Fran & Flora’s intricately sculpted contemporary and virtuosic sound has been described “as experimental as it is accessible” (The Guardian). They’ve mesmerised audiences from London to Montreal performing to sold out crowds at prestigious festivals and venues including Kings Place (Songlines Encounters), Hidden Notes Festival, Between the Lines, EFG London Jazz Festival and KlezKanada (Montreal).
This performance features a vibrant mix of Klezmer, Eastern European traditional string music and contemporary electronica, creating an intimate, evocative and ‘border-defying’ (Mojo) soundworld.
“time-travels brilliantly between solid folk origins and avant garde play with a surprise at every corner” – Jude Rogers, The Guardian
