The trail-blazing Laiton Trumpet Quartet is an all-female ensemble comprising four recent graduates from the Royal Northern College of Music, who hail from over the UK, from Suffolk to West Scotland, Cornwall to North Yorkshire.

They’ve enjoyed great success performing in several lunchtime concerts in and around Manchester and the North West, as well as taking part in masterclasses and performances within the RNCM. The group made it to the finals of the RNCM Philip Jones Brass Prize in 2023 and 2024 and were commended for their innovative and creative programme by Philip’s wife Ursula Jones. Laiton also enjoyed performing a successful Spotlight concert in February 2023, titled The Music Around Us, where they explored the use of space and stage in performance.

This performance features a blend of colourful arrangements of classic pieces and original compositions: forty minutes of flair and fire showcasing the brilliance, lyricism and versatility of the trumpet.

The Laiton Trumpet Quartet appear by kind permission of the RNCM.
