Sharp Little Bones is a jazz trio formed by members of the house band at Peggy’s Skylight, Nottingham’s multi-award-winning jazz venue, and is led by bassist and composer Simon Paterson. Joined by Live at Lunch regular, drummer Andrew ‘Woody’ Wood, and keyboardist and co-founder of Peggy’s, Paul Deats, they form a virtuosic quartet playing compositions with a fresh, contemporary appeal.
With well-crafted, melodic writing and tight, energetic, rhythmical arrangements, their debut double album, Volumes I & II received widespread critical acclaim. The release was supported by a sold-out UK tour culminating in a headline show at the London Jazz Festival. Leader, Simon Paterson, has been described as “an exceedingly talented composer and bassist, whose style has evolved and matured into something original, yet connects with fans of all kinds of music, as well as the jazz faithful”.
