The Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall is proud to be the Lead Theatre Partner in the RSC Associate School Programme in Nottingham. We will be working in partnership with the RSC and our Lead Schools, the P6P to bring about a significant change in the way young people experience, engage with, and take ownership of the work of Shakespeare. Teachers will learn, with their students in the way actors do in a rehearsal room, using dynamic, active approaches. The P6P and other Associate schools will develop a strong bond with the RSC and TRCH. We are ambassadors for each other.

West End In Nottingham - Summer School
West End in Nottingham is back for 2018. The Musical Theatre Summer School runs from Monday 30 July to Friday 3 August and is divided into two groups; participants aged 7 to 10 and participants aged 11 to 16.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to work with actual industry professionals from the West End and culminates in a performance for family and friends on the stage of the Royal Concert Hall.
Each day participants will get the opportunity to learn choreography, songs and scenes from West End performers. At the end of each session, participants get a chance to have their questions answered in the Q & A session with each West End Performer.
The Course Director for West End in Nottingham is Michael Park, who has worked professionally in the performing arts industry for many years as a performer and also in the education sector as a teacher, speaker and course leader. Michael will be supported in his work with an Assistant Director as well as four West End performers.
Administrative and front of house tasks for the Summer School will be co-ordinated by a member of the venue’s Creative Learning team, who will be responsible for ensuring the security and health and safety of the students throughout. All members of staff involved in this project are DBS checked.
These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for participants to gain confidence, meet new people, develop their Musical Theatre skills and, most importantly, have a lot of fun during the holidays! No previous experience is necessary. Anyone with a passion for performing or Musical Theatre is welcome to join.
The cost of this Summer School is £80 per child.
