The world has held great Heroes,
As history-books have showed;
But never a name to go down to fame
Compared with that of Toad!

Wise Owl Theatre bring the high-spirited and downright ludicrous tale of ‘Mr. Toad’ to the stage.

With Toad Hall under threat from the sly Vin Weasel, Toads insatiable need for speed could land him in serious trouble!

The story is based on Kenneth Grahame’s ‘Wind in the Willows’ and includes appearances from the story’s exquisitely drawn characters including Badger, Ratty and Mole.

A show filled with love, laughter and heart-warming lessons in friendship, MR TOAD is the perfect family treat.

The production features puppetry designs by Matthew Forbes, Associate Puppetry Director, of the National Theatre’s award-winning production War Horse.

"This production combines imagination, tunes and beautiful costumes to take children on a magical journey”

Lauren in Leicester

“Wise Owl certainly lived up to their hope of being an immersive theatre accessible to all… They engaged our severely disabled daughter for at least 95% of the performance, impressive by all standards as she’s a seasoned theatre goer. We need to see more of Wise Owl Theatre!”

KATE PICKERING

Brilliantly exciting, funny, and spectacular family theatre has always been something that I’ve been passionate about. Great family shows can often inspire a life-long love of theatre and we think our brand new production of MR TOAD will do just that! Our show features fantastic puppetry, wonderful sets, and a hilarious script.

We’ve been working on this magical new production for over a year, and we can’t wait to share it with our audiences across the UK!

MR TOAD is a larger than life story, based on Kenneth Graham’s much loved ‘Wind in the Willows’. It’s a story of friendship, self discovery, overcoming adversity, and a need for speed! Our incredible cast of three, bring Toad, Badger, Ratty, Mole, and all of the other riverbank characters to life with funny songs, witty jokes, and beautiful puppetry.

Since a child, I’ve always loved the story of ‘Wind in the Willows’, I remember reading it with my Grandparents during the summer holidays. Each day we’d read a few chapters and I’d get lost in the fantastic world of the English countryside; I remember the dastardly weasels, the grandeur of Toad Hall, and the wonder of fancy motor cars! We’ve taken all of that glorious storytelling, and given it a little twist. In our production, we hear Mr Toad’s story, from Mr Toad’s perspective, with all of the pomp and ceremony that you’d expect from the one-and-only MR TOAD.

With a huge handful of original songs, hilarious jokes, and plenty of audience interaction I’m certain you’ll enjoy our TOADally awesome show! Toot Toot!
