It’s not every day you get the chance to sing in a spectacular Concert Hall backed by an eighty-piece orchestra, but that’s what you’ll be doing when you join the Drivetime Choir and sing during our Drivetime Concert. This year’s theme is the Paris Olympics, featuring music from John Williams’s Olympic Fanfare to Michael Giacchino’s theme from The Incredibles – see the full programme listing below.

As part of the Drivetime Choir you’ll be performing the rousing Olympic Hymn Spiros Samaras which has been heard at every Olympic Games since 1956, and Gabriel Fauré’s famously moving Cantique de Jean Racine. Last year we had over 500 choir members making a truly breath-taking sound.

The Drivetime Choir is open to all, from beginners to seasoned singers, and you’ll receive expert coaching from Angela Kay MBE, former Director of Music for Everyone. Her rehearsal sessions are always informal and fun and you’ll be amazed how far you take your singing in just a couple of hours.

Joining the choir is easy and won’t take up much of your time
You just need to attend at least one of the main rehearsals on Monday 10 June (7pm – 9pm) and Wednesday 12 June (7pm – 9pm). There’s a dress rehearsal with the Hallé on Friday 14 June at 5.15pm. It’s not compulsory but you’ll certainly find it helpful.

How to join
1.  Fill in the sign-up form
2. Book your Drivetime Concert ticket, which you’ll get at the reduced choir member rate of £8.00.

If your family and friends want to come along to the concert and hear you sing – they can book their tickets on our Drivetime Concert page
