The Hallé

Euan Shields                     conductor
Ruth Rosales                     presenter

Here at the Royal Concert Hall, we love orchestras. They’re turbochargers for the emotions – love, pain, terror and joy are all found in great orchestral music – so it’s no surprise that they often provide the soundtracks to our lives.

Films, TV, radio, adverts, video games – orchestral music is everywhere, but there’s no better way to experience its power than a live concert with an 80-piece orchestra giving it everything. If you’ve not heard a live orchestra before then the Drivetime Concert is the perfect place to start. It’s an hour of fantastic music played by the world famous Hallé Orchestra, with classic pieces from some of the world’s greatest composers.

There’s a friendly, fun atmosphere and the pieces are introduced from the stage by our presenter, Ruth Rosales, so it’s ideal for families too. The concert starts at 6pm so you’ll miss the rush hour and there’s plenty of time afterwards to grab a meal in town or get the kids to bed.

This year’s theme is The Olympics. Details of the programme will be added here very soon.

The Drivetime Choir
You can also be a part of the show by joining our Drivetime Choir and singing … with the full might of The Hallé orchestra during the concert.

To join, simply head over to our Drivetime Choir web page, sign-up and book your concert ticket – which you’ll get at the reduced choir member rate of £8.00.
